The Salem witch trials have many differences but overall are very similar to the England witch trials during the Elizabethan Era in many ways. They both grew out of the same origins, as a way to explain the unexplainable. In Salem it was the afflicted girls' fits and in England it was the unexplainable acts of witchcraft. The people that were accused were very similar in each location as well. The majority of the accused were outcasts and mainly women. People who didn't exactly conform to the ways of society. Although there were some anomalies, the norm of the accused remained the outcast women. The most popular types of execution were also the same. Hanging. And lastly, what happened after the trials was both cautious and slow, but the both people eventually atoned for the heinous witch trials.
